Young People

We have a specialist Young Person Support service for anyone aged 11-25, including all members of the trans community and non-binary people. Our Young Person support workers can provide one-to-one or group support that is tailored specifically to the needs of young people.

Groups are an opportunity to give and receive support together with other survivors. It is a safe space to talk about what happened to you, if you want to. You don’t have to share anything you don’t want to, and anything you choose to share will stay confidential. Each week varies depending on what group members want, but would usually involve some discussion and simple, safe activities such as drawing, writing or some selfcare exercises. You don’t have to take part in anything you don’t feel comfortable with. It is natural to be nervous attending group for the first time. It might be comforting to remember that most participants will be feeling the same way

Referrals

We accept referrals from Survivors directly or others on their behalf, with their authorisation i.e. family members, friends, partner agencies, GPs, Therapists, Social Workers etc. Call us on 01224 590932 or email us. We recognise how difficult it can be to tell someone about what you’ve gone through. That’s why getting support isn’t about going into detail or going over exactly what happened if you don’t want to talk about it. It’s about getting the chance to talk through your feelings in a safe, non-judgmental space. We will listen to you, believe you and help you make your own decisions. Whether you decide to come here by yourself or you’re brought along by a parent, teacher or other carer, we’ll help you decide if this is the right place for you.
